The site of Broadway Dance Center was built on Drupal 7, an outdated version of the CMS that would no longer be supported. Over time, the content and media had become difficult to handle and performance issues started to arise. At the same time, the company’s business depended greatly on the integration with Mindbody, a third party fitness and wellness management platform that handles all the class listings, schedules, and instructor data.

The client required a strong and up-to-date CMS that could:

• And most importantly, give a smooth, mobile-friendly experience to users who are looking to find the right dance class, quickly.

We moved the site from Drupal 7 to Drupal 10including new features and enhancingperformance. It was not just a technical upgrade; it was a full digital transformation.

Here’s what we did:

• Simplified content types: We reorganized and merged old and irrelevant content structures to help editors work with pages and class information more efficiently.

• Improved media management: We added a more contemporary media library that includes videos, responsive image styles, and reusability across content types.

• Custom API integration with Mindbody: We created a custom synchronization process that retrieves the class and instructor details directly from Mindbody into Drupal. This means the schedule on the website is always up to date, without the editorial team lifting a finger.

• Modern frontend with improved UX: We built an interface where users can browse classes by style (hip-hop, ballet, jazz etc.), level (beginner to advance), and age group using a clean and responsive design.

• Performance optimization: Strategies for caching and the optimization of frontend assets meant that even pages that included images and videos would load fast.
