AWS Cloud Engineer

Cheppers is looking for AWS Cloud Engineers to build and maintain cloud-based solutions for our clients and to enhance internal tools used by our development teams. We are AWS partners with extensive expertise in the platform and significant experience hosting highly available websites and applications. In addition to AWS, we are GitLab partners, and we offer a range of DevOps services, from infrastructure planning to implementing modern CI/CD pipelines.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain cloud infrastructure solutions for SaaS/PaaS products using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles
  • Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines to enable efficient software delivery
  • Create and maintain APIs and automation scripts to streamline infrastructure management
  • Deploy and orchestrate containerized applications in production environments
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions for high-availability services
  • Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot infrastructure issues
  • Participate in on-call rotations to ensure system reliability and uptime
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and infrastructure planning discussions
  • Stay up to date with cloud technology trends and implement best practices

Required qualifications

  • 2-3 years of hands-on experience working with AWS
  • Proficiency with at least one Infrastructure as Code(IaC) tool: Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Pulumi
  • Strong experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Solid understanding of high-availability patterns and disaster recovery strategies
  • Linux system administration skills (shell scripting, package management, networking)
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and pipelines (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions etc.)
  • Understanding of security best practices for cloud environments
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal)

Nice to have

  • Active AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, SysOps Administrator)
  • Expertise with configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
  • Programming experience in Python, Go, or similar languages
  • Experience operating production services in a DevOps capacity
  • Contributions to relevant open-source projects
  • Experience with automated testing methodologies
  • Familiarity with observability tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack)
